PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Cynthia brings more than 11
years of managed health care including network
development, contracting and operations within health
plan, medical group and hospital organizations. Cynthia's
magnitude of professional services to healthcare providers
in Houston and the surrounding communities includes
contract review, contract negotiation, reimbursement
analysis, regulatory compliance assessment, health
plan/provider liaison, operations/management assistance
and grievance/dispute resolution.
In her current role as Program
Director, Cynthia oversees the management of and
strategic direction of the American Organ Transplant
Association. Cynthia's resources provide value and
depth to AOTA's reach. Cynthia received a BBA in Management
from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 1990.
COORDINATOR
Pat provides day-to-day administrative
management to the American Organ Transplant Association.
When you call our offices, you are probably receiving
help from Pat. Pat takes phone calls, coordinates
the travel vouchers with the transplant centers, patients
and Continental Airlines or Greyhound Lines.
Tracy provides back up support
on the day-to-day administrative management of
AOTA. If Pat is unavailable, you'll most likely be
speaking with Tracy.
BOOKKEEPER
Amber Garcia brings over 8 years
of business management experience to her role
as bookkeeper. Amber is currently the Owner of Amber
Ink!, a consulting services firm for small to medium
sized organizations, providing general business infrastructure
with the setting up and maintaining of bookkeeping
services. Amber's attention to detail and strengths
in operations, sales strategies, training and customer
service makes her a valued asset to the AOTA team.
Amber is currently a volunteer
with Northwest Assistance Ministries, a board
member of Greenwood Christian School and Greenwood
Forest Elementary. Amber received a B.S. degree in
Consumer Science and Merchandising with a Minor in
Psychology from the University of Houston, where she
is a member of the University of Houston Alumni Association.

- Kenneth E. Klingensmith
Health Associates, Inc.
Board Chair and President
Kenneth Klingensmith brings over 10 years experience
in the healthcare field to his role as Board
Vice Chair. Kenneth specializes in the areas of
management, healthcare and managed care operations,
business development, patient and provider education,
customer service, budgeting, network and contract
management and strategic planning. Kenneth has been
intrinsically involved in the Houston transplant
community for several years.
His leadership and business skills complement
the goals and values of the American Organ Transplant
Association. Kenneth's current community involvement
includes membership in the Healthcare Financial
Management Association, the Houston and National
Association of Health Underwriters, and the International
Who's Who of Professional Management. Kenneth serves
on the Executive Board of the Ohio University of
Alumni where he received a Bachelor of Science in
Health, Cum Laude, Health Services Administration
in 1993 with a Minor in Business Administration.

- Pamela H. Terry

Board Past Chair and President
Pamela Terry brings over 35 years of community
service and business experience to her role
as Chair of the American Organ Transplant Association,
most notably, as Executive Director of the Galleria
Chamber of Commerce from 1988-1991. Additionally,
she obtained Accreditation in Public Relations from
the Public Relations Society of America. Pamela's
communications and organization skills and her desire
to make a difference in the community make for a
creative leader for the organization.
Pamela's current involvement in the community
includes co-founder of the Techxans organization,
a technology oriented educational and networking
group, and Program Chair and Board Member for the
Houston Chapter of the Association of Information
Technology Professionals. Pamela is an Account Executive
for Time Warner Telecom where she provides telecommunications
consulting to a variety of industries. Pamela has
been on the board of the American Organ Transplant
Association since February of 1998, and has served
as Chair for 2 years from January of 2001 through
December 2002.

- Leslie Duncan, RN
Memorial Hermann Hospital
Leslie Duncan brings over 26 years of nursing
and transplant management experience to her
role as a Board Member of the American Organ Transplant
Association. As the current Director of Out Patient
Transplant Services, Leslie oversees all transplant
services for the Memorial Hermann Hospital System
in Houston.
Leslie is currently a member of the American Nephrology
Nurse Association, the Sigma Theta Tau International
Honor Society of Nursing, the National Kidney Foundation
and the North American Transplant Coordinators Organization.
A published author and speaker on Transplant
Education, Leslie received Graduate Honors in
1987 from the University of Texas Health Science
Center where she also completed her Masters of Science
in Nursing in 1994.
